Darth Vader voice actor James Earl Jones is determined to call it quits from the Star Wars franchise. The actor is worldwide famous for being the iconic voice of Sith Lord Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise. Now, though James Earl Jones may be taking himself off, his voice is going to remain for future Star Wars projects with the help of AI as per a report by Vanity Fair.
James Earl Jones has signed over the rights to his authentic voice art so AI could work upon it to regenerate his voice. Lucasfilm and a Ukrainian company called Respeecher are operating this voice recreation project by using the process of artificial intelligence and machine learning. As per the report, Respeecher “utilizes archival recordings and a proprietary AI algorithm to create a fresh dialogue with the voices of performers from long ago.” The company worked to regenerate Jones’s Darth Vader voice for the Obi-Wan Kenobi show and also the voice of a young Luke Skywalker for The Book of Boba Fett.
