AI for All: Transforming Indian Tech Market with Artificial Intelligence
Global Tech Outlook analyses how Artificial Intelligence AI for All is set to transform Indian tech market
Developed countries like the USA, China, Japan, South Korea, and many more are already fighting for first place in the Artificial Intelligence race. Meanwhile, being a developing country, India has started adapting to Artificial Intelligence with initiatives like ‘AI for All’and many R&D projects. The Government of India has allocated budgets for adopting AI in the Indian tech market in the nearby future. It is high time for India to start building infrastructures, courses, R&D plants, etc. to gain the interests of students and working professionals in one of the major disruptive technologies. Let’s go through all kinds of initiatives taking place from the Central Government of India.
Artificial Intelligence AI for All
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a joint initiative of a self-learning online programme with Intel India and the Government of India to increase public awareness about Artificial Intelligence— Artificial Intelligence for All on 29 July, 2021. The aim is to explain all kinds of AI models and functionalities to all the citizens including students, parents, professionals, retired employees, and many more. There are two parts of this AI for All initiative to build a digital-first mindset— AI Aware and AI Appreciate. These two parts are based on Artificial Intelligence concepts with different activities and quizzes. Candidates will receive badges that mean they are declared as the bearers of AI Aware and AI Appreciation.
AI Aware consists of a definition of Artificial Intelligence, human intelligence, a clear understanding of differences between AI models and non-AI models, and clearing misconceptions regarding this disruptive technology. AI Appreciation includes descriptions of different domains of AI models and their impact on multiple industries as well as the principles of responsible AI and AI ethics.
This Artificial Intelligence for All initiative is available in 11 Indian languages with talk-back applications for visually impaired citizens— English, Bengali, Oriya, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, Kannada, and Gujarati. It takes around four hours to complete both the sections through smart devices such as laptops, smartphones, tablets, and desktops along with a minimum of 512 kBps internet connection. It is the first step to enter the world of Artificial Intelligence for all Indian citizens to get ready for the tech-driven future.
This is India’s own national strategy for AI to be a global leader for inclusive technologies. The National Education Policy 2020 has declared that India is focused on preparing students for the AI-driven economy in the nearby future. CBSE has introduced Artificial Intelligence as a subject from class VI-XII since 2019. This Artificial Intelligence for All initiative is determined to introduce Artificial Intelligence to approximately one million Indian citizens in the first year.
It is a well-known fact that Artificial Intelligence holds the power to transform the future of a country with its drive to faster economic growth beyond some challenges. India is set to be in a significant position in the global tech market despite the population rate in rural areas and the digital divide. India has realized the importance of acknowledging the functionalities of AI models for an AI-driven economy in the nearby future.
The Government of India has launched INDIA ai as the central hub for everything AI in India. The Union Government is set to deploy AI models to reduce losses and improve quality in power distribution infrastructure. The Indian Government is focused on data analysis of real-time data generated through IT/OT devices to prepare system-generated energy. It has already approved multiple AI-based start-ups to develop and build AI models for driving the growth of this country. Global tech companies are highly interested to expand their branches in India with recruitments of Artificial Intelligence engineers and other job roles. Since students have sufficient knowledge about the AI models, Indian tech market will be thriving in the global tech market while attracting investments of millions of dollars. Building smart cities with these cutting-edge technologies and convincing citizens to use AI models will be much easier for the state governments due to the Artificial Intelligence for All iniative.
Deploying full-time AI models in multiple industries will take place gradually in India. But it is guaranteed that initiatives like Artificial Intelligence for All can transform the Indian tech market by leveraging Artificial Intelligence. The Indian tech market has overcome and improved a lot in unprecedented times like the COVID-19 pandemic. Utmost progress is on its road through investments in infrastructures, industry collaborations, and educating students about AI. There is a growing appetite for the vast field of Artificial Intelligence inside students’ mindsets after learning about AI since class VI.
We will see India fighting against the AI-hubs like the USA and China soon in the AI race.
